The Penn Valley Exterior project began with the desire to extend the home outdoors. inHabit previously took on the complete redesign of the home which was complete in 2016. After a successful interior renovation phase, there was hope for the backyard to become just as functional and enjoyable as the home itself.
The cedar post and beam framing marry the neutral color pallet of the interior spaces with the natural materials on the exterior. Custom metal brackets create a striking contrast in materials. Sitting over a repaved bluestone patio, the structure creates a two-story space extending the kitchen and living room to the backyard.
The “outdoor room” features an extensive kitchen with a grill, custom hood, small refrigerator, and custom built-in storage. The living area is made complete with a built-in TV cabinet and gas burning fire pit. All millwork was custom designed to enhance the experience of this outdoor space.
