When inHabit first visited this house on McCallum Street in Philadelphia's Mount Airy neighborhood, it was a series of small rooms that did not relate. The owners never even used their existing living room. What the McCallum Street house had in character (like beautiful built-ins and arched brick details) it lacked in flow. Small, enclosed rooms were cut off from one another. The layout didn't work for entertaining or daily life.
inHabit transformed the house by taking down walls and creating a bright and airy first floor plan with a new kitchen, comfortable living spaces, and a window-wall to capture views to the back garden. Deep blue and soft green colors accentuate original details that were preserved and highlight new elements - such as the custom kitchen millwork and cabinetry. The result is an open plan that exudes warmth as soon as the front door opens. An updated front vestibule and master bedroom renovation were additional parts of the renovation project.
